Weddings

It is nice to commit the rest of your life to one person by jumping the broom. Yet with everything that takes place in the preparation I can do without.

I had the pleasure of not getting married but helping with the bridal party for my anutie's wedding last weekend. My only duty was to make sure that the bridal party all had hair that looked good. Why did the salon become grand central for directing calls and questions. I felt like a conselor, coordinator-operator, and stylist.

As counselor any problem that they could think of I had to listen to. Then claim people down who wanted to give up on being any part of the wedding at all. Bring the emotionally high strung back down to earth. All while keeping my self from wanting to jump off a bridge.

On to my second job of coordinator-operator was pretty interesting. Phone would not stop ringing whit clls of where is the bride and who is picking up the out of towners with no cars. The none stop calls can I call so and so and have them call someone else. My favorite was the calls about the decorations and preparation at hte hall which I was ten miles away from. Which I would then have to call five to ten other people to find out how things where going to call the original caller back and let them know.

As for my original job as stylist it all went pretty good except for that the wedding party didn't start showing up until one hour before the wedding was suppose to start. So of course then I start getting calls about when the bridal party was going to get to the hall.

Being that I was so busy it is funny that I have been told that I should have came to the wedding. Cause my intent was to complete the bridal party hair go home and take a shower get dress and make it to the hall for the wedding. Yet since the wedding party was running late they didn't get finished til thirty minutes after the wedding started; why do anyone think that I would have been able to make it.

So to all people thinking of getting married I say go to the justice of the peace take to witness it will be so much easier. Spend the money on a really nice vacation/honeymoon.
